• About Me

Welcome to the Homer High School library page.

I love helping students and parents find the information they need. Don't be shy. Ask for help.

Wiki-Leaks  — News you won’t find in the mainstream media.

CNN wrongly told the public that reading these documents for yourself is illegal.  See it here.  Don’t be afraid to find your own news in original sources rather than filtered through a news or government agency.  Just be sure to verify your new-found facts before posting them on social media or using them in a class project.

The Drudge Report:  Matt Drudge gathers headlines from all over the globe.  It is the most current news and covers everything from soup to nuts.  He very rarely writes anything himself, just posts links to breaking news.

I have yet to find a news outlet that is unbiased.  Some are better than others, but still, it is “audience beware.”  Read news from a variety of sources ( both progressive and conservative sources) to get the full story.

For a list of the top digital news sources based on Internet traffic, see the following two web posts:

While these lists were published in 2009, they still accurately reflect the most used sites when compared to more current lists which include online newspapers.  Two new sites since that date are now in the top rankings, so are added to the list.  The top conservative and progressive sites are as follows:
